I wrote a poem titled “The Lives Of Many” a couple years ago and I thought I would share it here on The Chronicles Of History since this is now my only blog. It is a poem I wrote that expresses the journey readers like you and I take while we explore different books. I hope everyone enjoys it!
The Lives Of Many
I am most blessed; today saw journeys aplenty
I was a royal princess; stronger than they think
As my eyes leaped from page to page
Living the lives of many
Then I turned spy; planning a ship to sink
I saw nations fall; what do you think?
Book to book: There I go!
Living the lives of many
Yesterday I found myself; trapped was I
Triumph and defeats; they are all mine
Word for word; always changing
Living the lives of many
Ocean to Ocean; where haven’t I been?
Person to Person; who haven’t I been?
Letter to Letter; I am all of them
Living the lives of many
Reading by far is no contest; it is the very best
I get to be anything; blessed am I
Turning page after page ; It is no test
Living the lives of many.

BOOK PICK OF THE DAY
A Good Knight’s Kiss is a romantic coming-of-age story.John’s uncanny cleverness and insight, and his red hair, cause his stepmother to fear him, thinking him a devilish daemon. He sets off, much to his chagrin, to start his new life as page, squire, and then knight to his uncle-by-marriage. As often happens, he falls in love.
But it is with his lord’s daughter, no less.John is sensitive, astute and fiery, and his conflicting loyalties and wants drive him onwards.
When he’s faced with a choice between heeding his father’s decree for a simple life, and his oath to his brother on one hand, and the love of his life on the other, how will he choose? Simplicity or love, honour or happiness?
