Writing Corner | Don’t You Dare – A Poem Written By Samantha James

Don’t You Dare is a poem I wrote on my old website Samantha The Reader and is one of the last few poems from that archive that I thought to share with everyone in a quick Sunday morning post. There is only about ten articles and reviews left from those archives that I have yet to republish.

The merging of Samantha The Reader into The Chronicles of History will be officially complete once I get those posted which makes me extremely happy. I will be forever grateful for everybody who has been patient with all the changes over this year with blog name, layouts, and the merging of two separate blogs into one solid website. There aren’t words enough to express the gratitude I feel for those who followed me over from the old website.

I am also very excited because I just learned the good news that my submission query for an article I wrote will be published in the next edition of the All Things Tudor Magazine around late September. This will be amazing! The article is titled The Misunderstood Boleyn Wife: Lady Rochford’s True Story covering the complicated figure and life of Jane Boleyn.

DON’T YOU DARE

by Samantha James

——————–

Don’t you dare

Tell me what to care

It is not your right I fear

Don’t you dare

Tell me what to believe

For it is mine to conceive

Don’t you dare

Tell me I am wrong

It is not your song

Don’t you dare

Tell me how to behave

You just aren’t that brave

Don’t you dare

Tell me what to think

It is you who should blink

Look in the mirror; before you dare

See your own faults; before you point

Think with a brain; before you pain

This is not a game

I swear you want to snare

But before you glare

Make sure you are

Utterly; devoutly; morally

Perfect
