Queen Victoria wrote “Since it has pleased providence to place me in this station, I shall do my utmost to fulfill my duty towards my country,” She became Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland on June 20th, 1837.
Prince Albert wrote the sweetest words to his future wife in October of 1839 upon his engagement to Queen Victoria. He said “How is it that I have deserved so much love, so much affection? I cannot get used to the reality of all that I see and hear, and have to believe that Heaven has sent me an angel whose brightness shall illumine my life,”
